Ola Akinboboye, MD, MBH, MBA, is the renowned cardiologist at Laurelton Heart Specialists located in the Rosedale neighborhood of Queens in New York City. Dr. Akinboboye takes a comprehensive and integrative approach to cardiac care, utilizing state-of-the-art tools and techniques to assist with diagnosis and treatment, but always emphasizing the importance of diet and exercise when it comes to heart health.

After receiving his Doctor of Medicine at the College of Medicine at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, Dr. Akinboboye relocated to the United States to complete his internal medicine residency and part of his cardiology fellowship at the Nassau County Medical Center, State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook. 

Dr. Akinboboye completed his cardiology fellowship training at the prestigious Columbia University in New York City, which included one year devoted to nuclear cardiology and one year to advanced echocardiography. He is board-certified in cardiology, nuclear cardiology, sleep medicine, and internal medicine. Dr. Akinboboye is also an expert in Cardiac Amyloidosis Treatment.

Dedicated to improving his knowledge, Dr. Akinboboye went on to earn master’s degrees in public health and business administration at Columbia University. He’s also an accomplished clinician, teacher, and researcher with more than 100 scientific publications in the fields of hypertension, diabetes, and heart imaging.

Dr. Akinboboye’s dedication to medicine and his patients hasn’t gone unnoticed; he’s received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career, including selection by Castle Connolly for inclusion in the prestigious Top Doctors: New York Metro Area - 9th Edition, and by the Network Journal as one of the Best Black Doctors in the New York tri-state area. 

Dr. Akinboboye also received a humanitarian award from the College of Medicine at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria for his ongoing efforts to spread expertise in the techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation in Nigeria.
